😂First time home buyers, Tom and Amanda, were probably expecting a relatively uneventful final walkthrough. Working lights, check. No major holes in walls, check. Bidet working, ch…nope, nothing. Jeff, in his helpful nature, stepped in to adjust the pressure gauge and next thing they knew, a stream of high pressure bidet water shot across the bathroom, narrowly missing Tom.

But not Amanda. #cantmakethisup 😂

While not every walkthrough is as eventful, this outstanding couple kept their sense of humor, just as they did throughout the process.

Tom and Amanda came to us with a few things on their plate: an expiring lease, a wedding in the works, and a smart budget. While shopping in Madison’s super competitive east side condo market, they knew they would need to be quick and aggressive to get what they were looking for in a timeline that fit their needs. The couple made a strong but smart offer on a great 2 bedroom/1 bidet unit , ultimately beating out multiple offers at a price that didn’t break their budget.

Tom and Amanda, we are so excited for you to enjoy the next chapter of your life filling this condo with love, memories, and laughter. We are so grateful to have been a part of your journey!

Meet The Minter Team- Michelle Minter

Michelle Minter: Buyer Specialist | Marketing

Michelle’s passion for helping and mentoring others through difficult situations make her the team’s rockstar buyer’s agent and staging specialist. Guiding first-time homebuyers through the process is one of her favorite things about the job. Michelle works mostly with buyers, including an initial goal-setting meeting, showings, negotiations, and regular communication and updates throughout the process. Sellers can also expect to work with Michelle during their staging appointment, but most of her work with listings will be behind-the-scenes marketing efforts to get your house seen and sold!

Prior to real estate, Michelle taught middle and high school math for 14 years, and enjoyed coaching cross country as well. Originally from Beaverton, Oregon, she loves anything outdoors and her favorite hobbies include paddlesports, hiking, camping, and running. When Wisconsin weather keeps her indoors, she finds her fun with DIY projects, yoga, and learning the ukulele.

About The Minter Team- Jeff Minter

Jeff Minter: Team Leader | Listing Specialist

As a self-proclaimed data nerd, Jeff makes the ideal listing specialist and business manager for the Minter Team. His ability to analyze market trends not only help sellers make smart decisions about pricing, but also make him a well-informed advocate throughout negotiations. While selling your home, Jeff will handle most of the transactional duties with your listing, including paperwork, pricing, negotiations, regular communication, and updates.

In his former life, Jeff taught middle and high school students in multiple subjects while also serving as Head Football Coach at Belleville High School. He continues to enjoy coaching many youth sports including basketball, football, baseball, and soccer. Jeff doesn’t believe in down time, so if he is not working or coaching, you might find him throwing a ball around with his boys, or teaching his musically-inclined daughter a new Metallica riff on the guitar. That being said, if a Badger or Packer game is on, all bets are off!

February 2017 Update & Market Strategy

After a rollercoaster year in 2016 in which we saw inventory levels hit rock bottom, interest rates stay low, and record sales in Dane County there are many questions as we being to tiptoe into 2017.

Stark Company President Dave Stark outlines a number of factors that will affect our 2017 market in the most recent edition of the company newsletter found here, starting with the fact that our inventory levels are 27% below where they were a year ago.

With so few options available, and rates still relatively low, basic economics come into play and we can see that demand heavily outweighs supply. In other words, we’re in a strong sellers market.

So if there aren’t many homes to choose from, when should you put your current house on the market?
